Kitchen Island Carts Once you've determined the correct shape and size for your table, you may choose to help expand define your dining area with a rug. Choose any style rug to improve your room's d?cor and visually set apart your dining space from the rest of your property. The size of the rug depends upon how big is your dining table. There must be a minimum two-foot perimeter across the edge of the table for rugs, allowing for use of chairs and visual cohesion.
A table with a leaf is a great way to expand your dining area. When you have the space, you might like to consider keeping the leaf in the table full time. A leaf in storage will not age exactly like the rest of the table. Coloration may change or the leaf may warp if stored vertically, rather than horizontally, or if it is kept in a damp environment. Leaves are not often a choice with glass-topped tables. Butterfly leaves have become a popular option lately because they store the leaf right under the top of the table. It's important to try out the leaf mechanism when you are shopping. It will open and lock into place smoothly and easily without force. Drop leaf tables can allow you to place a table right against a wall for daily use. You can pull them right out of the wall and extend the leaf if you want to seat more people. A variation of the drop leaf table, gate-leg tables include a leg that swings out to support the leaf.
